The woes of a working mother....

I am have been feeling a little overwhelmed lately. I know it has been a year, but I am still getting used to this mom thing. I will probably be saying that 20 years from now too, but some days it is a lot to handle. Last night I was just overtaken with everything. I start my day at 6 a.m. every morning, get ready for work, get Jules ready run her to daycare in Pleasant Hill (keep in mind that we live in Urbandale) and then head to work by 8:00. I work at a job that while I am very thankful for it, I don't particularly enjoy. In fact I am starting to dread it. There is no respect in this office and it just wears on me everyday. Then it is back to Pleasant Hill and if I am lucky I will make it home by 6:00. 12 hours of running and going non-stop. All I would like to do when I get home is sit and rest for 10 minutes. Not going to happen when you have a one year old who is into EVERYTHING.

I just sat there looking at her and bawling last night because I was so overwhelmed. My living room is trashed on a daily basis, I can't keep her out of the kitchen, I have no time to organize or get anything done, it it just too much. So as I am wallowing in self pity, my husband calls and says he is on his way home and asks what I want for dinner. I was in no mood to make another decision. I yell at him and tell him that I can't decide, just bring me anything from the Chef's case. He again asks what I want, so I tell him that I just want grilled chicken with vegetables. Well there is no grilled chicken in the case, so I yell at him again and say "fine just bring me whatever home, I DON'T CARE" (all the while Julianna is whining and carrying on and crawling up me to try and get to the cell phone - her favorite toy) so I just hang up and leave it at that. 40 minutes later he is still not home, of course I am upset with him about that, so I call him and he says he is just now leaving. Grrr....I am frustrated. I need his help with Jules and I thought he was on his way home 40 minutes ago. When he gets home he comes in showers us with love and kisses and what does he have in his hands?

Grilled Chicken and Vegetables.

He had stayed at work and grilled the chicken for me, so I could have what I wanted for dinner. And cheesecake....the man brought me cheesecake, if you know me well, you know that cheesecake can solve everything. :o) Now that's some love. I bite your ear off, pretty much hang up on you and am frustrated with you and what do you do? You bring me everything I want and more. Then you take care of the babe and let me have my time.

Am I married to the greatest man alive or what? Thanks baby for all you do for me and for our family and household. I love, love, love you!!!

Julianna's First Birthday!!!!!

Julianna turned one on Saturday. What a great day it was. She had been sick earlier in the week, but was much better by Saturday morning. We had all of our family over. Mom and Tom are here from Phoenix, so it was nice to be able to spend the day with them.

Jules loved every minute of her big day. She got some great gifts (though she seemed more interested in the tissue paper and boxes than the actual gifts), but I think her favorite gift was her very own baby doll from big sister Mary and a big plush duck from aunt Lauren! When Mary opened the baby doll for her, Jules proceeded to start drinking from the baby's sippy cup and trying out her pacifier to see if it worked. It was the cutest thing!! Mom and Dad's favorite gift is her new big girl car seat. We love it and have already put it to good use!!!

Drew made Julianna her very own cake. When we put it down in front of her, she looked at us like "is this really o.k." and then proceeded to dive right in. She loved it!!! It was great fun watching her eat it. All in all it was a great day. Happy birthday, my amazing beauty. You are the most wonderful thing I have ever done and not a day goes by that I won't tell you that and tell you how much I love you and am thankful for you!!!

We Are V.I.P.!

We now have Video, Internet and Phone! We have been without cable, internet and a home phone for almost a year now! We decided it was too expensive and wanted to see if we could live a year without it. We did, but decided for different reasons that we needed internet, so Mediacom was offering a special for the next year. So we got all three for what we thought we would have to pay for just internet with out a phone line.

My mom bought us an awesome new laptop, so we are now wireless as well. I can tell that I will definately be using this to it's fullest. So hopefully that will mean more blogs and postings of what is happening with the Stinson Family!!!

We are headed off to the Omaha Zoo tomorrow to see fmaily that is visiting from Michigan and our family that lives in Omaha. I can't wait!!! It will be great to see them all again!

Here are some pictures from Memorial Day....

We went to visit all of the graves of our family members. One we visited was the grave of Drew's grandpa Stinson. Jules loves to wear her great-grandpa Stinson's hat, so we took a few pics of her wearing it, so we could place them on his grave. It was a very tender moment for us, when we went to see his grave and Jules gave him the pictures.....

After visiting some of the graves we decided we didn't want to waste such a beautiful day, so we took Julianna to Union Park so she could ride the Carousel. She really loved it and didn't seem to think that we needed to hold onto her. She thought she could handle it just fine. I just can't believe what a big girl she is. Only 10 more days until my baby is one......

Happy 3rd Anniversary Babe!

Three wonderful years ago today I married the man of my dreams. He is so amazing in so many ways. How shall I count them......

1 - I know he loves me with his whole being. He tells me everyday.

2 - He still thinks I am the most beautiful, sexiest woman alive. I catch him staring at me sometimes and he just smiles to let me know he still thinks I've got it.

3 - He is an amazing father to our girls. They could not ask for a better dad. He is so tender and caring. I can only dream that they find someone as wonderful as him one day.

4 - He would do ANYTHING and I mean ANYTHING for his family. We are his everything and he shows us everyday!

5 - He is pretty darn sexy himself. I could stare at him and feel my heart well up inside me for hours everyday. His smile can still take my breath away.

6 - We totally get each other and that we were meant for each other - there is no one else that could "get" or undertand us.

7 - He is the only one that can make me laugh so hard my head hurts along with my stomach, face and mouth. I never knew such joy and happiness until I met him

8 - We have a pretty amazing love story. Just ask me....I will tell you all about it.

9 - We have been blessed over and over throughout our marriage, so many things that we couldn't have gone through without each other. God knew that the only way we could handle them was together!

and last but not least.....10 - He takes me for who I am, past, present and future. He loves me unconditionally no matter what.

I really am one of the luckiest woman alive because of him. Thank you babe for everything and for being the husband I never thought I deserved and for being the one I always wanted. You are my everything!

Since I am officially crying over my keyboard now, I will leave with one last declaration of love. Here's to many more years by your side as your head over heels madly in love wife!

I love, love, love you!

Whew! We have been busy!

Sorry I haven't posted for a while. We have had so much going on! I will post some pics of Memorial Day Weekend in my next post. Drew had Sunday and Monday off, so it was SO nice to spend 2 whole days together. We had a great time. Wed. I was able to spend another couple of hours with my friend Salli who is visiting from New York. It was great to catch up some more and have some good, fun girl conversation. Her and her husband Aaron are coming over for dinner tonight. Drew is making his famous alfredo sauce. Can't wait!

My mom and Tom will be here in 11 days! I can't stinkin' wait! It will be fun to spend some time with them and have them see Jules. They haven't seen her since Thanksgiving and oh how she had changed.

She will be one in 12 days. I can't believe how the time has passed and how amazing this past year has been. I am just so blessed to be her "mama".

Look for some more postings later today and tomorrow. I will hopefully be up to speed, oh and we are getting cable, phone and home internet set up this weekend, so I will be able to blog and post more freely in less than a week!
