My little fashionista

For a 3 year old, Jules has some pretty great style. I never have to worry about her picking out her own clothes, because she will always find something that goes together. She even helps Mary out sometimes!

So, on Sunday before we left for Drew's mom's house, she wanted to change into an outfit that matched her mommy. Now I definitely don't have clothes as cool as hers, but I was wearing a black shirt and cardigan and denim capris.

Here is her version -

Grandma Li li - I know you LOVE her Fender t-shirt!!! And I should mention, that I have shoes that match hers, so she made me change into mine for the rest of the night. :) Could she be any cuter?!?

Happy Mother's Day to me!

We had a whirlwind of a weekend. Game night on Friday, running all over town on Saturday delivering Chocolate Covered Strawberries for Mother's Day and then Mother's Day itself was quite busy.

I woke up to a beautiful plant Jules had "made" for me at school. Along with a homemade card from her and other cards from her and Drew. I also got a new bracelet and matching earrings that I have had my eye on! Oh and chocolate covered strawberries of course! ;)

We headed to Grandma Howards for a delicious lunch. It was great to see everyone and wish all of the ladies a Happy Mother's Day.

I talked to my Mom a few times throughout the day and just reflected on how lucky I am to have such a wonderful, giving and supportive mother. I love her so much and wish we lived closer so we could see her more....hint hint :)

After a quick nap, we headed to Drew's mom's house for dinner. It was another delicious meal and fellowship. We finally headed home around 8:30 where I changed into pj's and flopped on the couch for the rest of the night. I was beat and so not ready to greet Monday! But I am so thankful for the day and that I am blessed enough to be a mom. It is truly the greatest thing in life. I love the girls so much and I am so incredibly blessed to have them in my life!!

Hope everyone had a beautiful and wonderful Mother's Day as well!

Family Game Night - May Edition

Friday night we had a GREAT time! Jules was in heaven. Her cousin Shrav was able to come as well as her friends Anna and Maddie. We played games, grilled out and just had fun! As things were winding down, the girls were playing in Jules' room with Mary. We went to check on them and this is what we found them doing......

Playing Wizard of Oz of course! Mary was the Wicked Witch, Maddie was Glinda and Jules was Dorothy. It was too cute!!

I resisted....

....so, chocolate eclairs are basically one of the best things ever created. While, i am not a huge chocolate fan, I can definitely tear apart an eclair.

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week and the treats in the breakroom have been numerous.

This morning I walked in and....there were eclairs. Perfectly decadent eclairs. I looked, I passed by, I smiled at them and I.walked.away. That's right - I overcame the temptation and I am pretty proud of myself....so much so that I think I will reward myself with a trip to Snookies tonight...

....just kidding! :-)

I LOVE My Husband!!!!

Drew is a pretty sentimental guy and he loves to show me on my birthday. He is such a great husband and just gets me. So instead of just grabbing any card that has the words "Happy Birthday Wife" on it, he looks and looks for the perfect card or cards - usually I get 2 or 3 before the day is over.

Last night he gave me a card that was just perfect. It was simple, but just exactly what he knew I needed to read and needless to say - I was bawling at the end. He is just simply the best! I love you babe!

Once there was this guy.

A nice guy, really.

And he met this girl.

An incredible girl - truly amazing.

So naturally the guy falls

head over heels in love with her,

and pretty soon they are picking out

china patterns and rings

and there's a wedding

and the starry-eyed couple

rides off into what will surely

be a rosy future.

Okay, so now some time has passed

and the guy is living in that future.

He's still married to this girl,

but now their life includes a lot of stuff -

kids and appliances and bills and

loads of laundry and home repair projects.

But between all the to-dos and have tos,

there are these moments

when the guy stops for a minute

and looks around him.

He looks at his wife,

who is still truly amazing,

he looks at their life together,

all the ways and different

directions it has grown,

he looks at it all

the responsibilites he's got,

and he thinks to himself,

so, this is my life.

And then he thinks,

I am one helluva lucky guy.

Happy Birthday, I Love you!

You Make My Life Worth Living - I Love You, Drew

Simply the best.

I Love My Girls!

My birthday was yeseterday and boy, was I blessed! We had my family part on Monday night and it was a great time with my family and Drew's family. I opened my gifts from the girls first and they blessed me with a homemade scrapbook with pictures from the past few years. I will admit it - it brought tears to my eyes. Seriously one of the best gifts ever!

THEN, they got me the best birthday cake ever - Almond Cake with Almond Frosting from Let Them Eat Cake in Valley Junction!!! If you have seen posts from the past couple of years, you know how much I LOVE this cake. Everyone else loved it too. And yes, I was good. Just had one piece, though I could have eaten half of it. It IS that good. Try it for yourself sometime!!

Off to See the Wizard....

....the Wonderful Wizard of Oz - At North High School!

On Sunday we surprised the girls with tickets to The Wizard of Oz at North High School. It was an amazing production with lots of special effects and pyro-technics. Jules was a little scared at times, but she loved it and even got in a hug with "Dorothy" afterwards!
It was a beautiful day - we missed the thunderstorm and hail while we were in the theatre. It was perfect! :)

Our girls were "WICKED" excited for the show!

Perfect ending to a great day!

Jules the Babysitter

On Saturday night we have the privilege of watching my friend (and fellow blogger) Maggie's little girl Molly!

Well, Jules actually had the privilege. Saturday morning Julianna asked:

"Now, mom Molly is coming over because I am the one who is going to watch her - right?"

"Yes, Jules you are watching her and we will just all be there to help if you need it." :)

But she wasn't joking, she wanted to do EVERYTHING for Molly. And while she was just a little overbearing, she had a blast helping Molly with eating, getting changed, going for a walk, changing into pj's and feeding her her nighttime bottle . She was SO disappointed when we had to put her to bed and even more disappointed in the morning when she woke up and Molly was gone.

It was a great night and we all just fell in love with Miss Molly!
As is custom with every child that meets Drew - Molly fell in love with him and wanted him to hold her most of the night. Too cute!

Jules was is HEAVEN with a baby in the house! Mary was so good - letting Jules have her time with Molly, but she got in a few snuggles too!
How adorable is this?!

Thanks Maggie! We can't wait to watch the babe again sometime!
