Dear Aunt La La,

I talked to mommy last night and here are the pictures you requested....

Here I am bowling. Mommy, Daddy and Aunt Co Co took me bowling a couple of weeks ago. It was fun and I rocked at it!
Here I am at the Dr. Office a couple of weeks ago. I am feeling much better now though because I did my treatments like I was suppose to!
Here I am at Grandpa Bob's Retirement Party from the Fire Station. Don't you love my dress? Aunt Barb got it for me for Christmas!

Me and Mommy. Your favorite sis! :)
I was a little scared of the big fire trucks!

But they are pretty cool!
Here we are at the Iowa Energy Game. I was so lucky and got to have my picture taken with the talented and beautiful lady who sang the National Anthem....she looks a lot like Aunt Co!

And last but not least, here I am in my new outfit Grandma Lili and Grandpa Tom bought for me. I called them from Target on Saturday and they told me to pick out whatever I wanted and they would pay for it. I picked the whole thing out myself. Don't you just love it!?!?

I love you Aunt La La and I miss SOOOOOOOO much! I hope these pics will tide you over for now. Mom will have more just as soon as she gets a new memory card for her camera. Have a great week!!!

10 Things that make me smile today

1 - Let's start with the obvious - IT'S FRIDAY!!

2 - It's FAMILY GAME NIGHT!! Tonight we have about 25 people coming to our house for this month's family game night. Drew is making his usual amazing chili and trying a new recipe for Pork Verde Chili. I am trying my hand at some gourmet popcorn. It will be another great night filled with lots and laughter and fun!

3 - Tomorrow we are relaxing during the day (because the house is already clean, thanks to Drew - see below) and watching movies with Jules.

4 - Tomorrow night my beautiful sister Courtney will be singing the National Anthem at the Iowa Energy Game. I am so excited to see her sing since I wasn't able to see her when she sang for the Iowa Cubs. :)

5 - Tomorrow is my bestie's birthday! After I see Courtney sing, I will head over to Centro for dinner with Rochelle and some other lovely ladies. Mama is excited for a night out!

6 - Yesterday morning my gorgeous husband said this to me "Babe why don't I bring home dinner from Johnny's tonight and when we are done eating you can lie down for the rest of the night and I will take care of cleaning the house for family game night tomorrow". And he did. The house looks great and I got some much needed rest last night. I have been having diificulty sleeping and it all caught up with me. I love that I have a husband who sees my needs and takes care of them! This makes me smile, because the ladies I work with are jealous of me today. What can I say I take care of my man and he takes care of me. Love it!

7 - I have lost 6 pounds. :) Limiting my pop intake and watching my calories has really started to pay off. Who knew :)

8 - 7 years ago this weekend Drew told me he loved me for the first time...and he has been telling me everyday since. I am such a blessed woman.

9 - Sunday we are trying a new church. I am excited.

10 - Julianna had herself dressed and ready to go this morning by the time I was done drying my hair. I love that kid. She makes me smile every minute of everyday!

Happy weekend folks! Stay warm and out of the ditches! :)

Not a lot going on....

...I have been asked by a few people to post a new blog message. We haven't really been up to much lately. Just spending time together and taking advantage of our family time.

This Friday is our second Family Game Night. I can't wait. I think it will be a lot of fun! Drew is making chili and I am going to try my hand at some gourmet popcorn. Don't get too excited. It is VERY easy to do, but I thought I would 'spice' things up a bit for this game night. :)

Julianna is doing so great in pre-school this year. Her vocabulary and intelligence amaze me on a daily basis. Sometimes is breaks my heart too. She is just growing up so fast. My little baby is gone and has grown into quite a little girl. I just adore her and find my self at some point each day staring at her and then back at Drew - We made her and she is so amazing!!! My favorite thing in the whole world is when she wraps her arms around my neck and says "ohhh mom, I just love you!" Melts my heart.

We are hoping to enroll Julianna in Grandview Park Baptist in the fall. They have a registration on the 16th and we will get more information at that time. I am kind of excited that Julianna might be going to the same school I went to!

Mary is growing into quite the young lady. She is so beautiful, it makes me not see straight some days. The boys are coming out of the woodwork for her. She was just asked out again yesterday. Of course she is not allowed to date or have a boyfriend for many more years, but that is hard for a 12 year old to understand when most of her friends have a boyfriend. I don't know what their parents are thinking. But honey, your parents are thinking you have PLENTY of time for that, and there is no way a 12 year old should be in any kind of relationship unless it is with God and your parents!! In a world of cell phones and text messages it is hard to keep tabs on boys contacting her, but we are not above checking her text messages and keeping her on the straight and narrow when it comes to boys. Especially Drew. :)

Mary was elected to Student Council this year - did I already post that? I can't remember, but anyway - we are SO proud of her! She is her class treasurer and is doing a great job. She is a little nervous and anxious for junior high next year, but I think she will do just fine...if she can focus on being an individual and not following the crowd. :)

Other than that, not much else to report. I am still having a great time at my job and loving it. My boss is so wonderful and I have made some really great new friends. Two of whom are also fellow bloggers. Check out their links on the side of my blog - Lynam Land and Maggie McBlogger. I am sure you will enjoy them as much as I do!

Well that is about it. Life is good, love is good and family is good. What more could I ask for?!

Whew!

NINE new posts today! I feel a sense of accomplishment that they are all done and forever out there in blog land.

Read them and enjoy.

Happy 25th Anniversary Sue and Dad!!

Last Sunday (1/10/10) was Sue and Dad's 25th Anniversary! They wanted to celebrate by going to The Machine Shed for dinner. It was a fun night and I feel so blessed to have 2 great step-parents in my life.

I will never forget the night we met Sue. My dad told Lauren and I that a special person was coming to dinner. We were so excited to meet this new person. We were just hoping beyond hoping that it was someone he was dating. When Sue came to the door (keep in mind it was the middle of winter) she was wearing a puffy coat and it was kind of hard to see her. Lauren yelled to my dad "Dad, there's some man here to see you!" Yeah, it was Sue! She had dinner with us that night and we were just as smitten as my dad. In fact he was so smitten that he asked her to marry him the next week and they were married a few short weeks later. Seriously. They had their first date the weekend after Thanksgiving 1984 and were married January 10th, 1985.

Here we are 25 years later! Sue and Dad have been such a blessing to us over the years and I can't wait to see what the next 25 years will bring them!

We love you both!
Happy 25th Anniversary!!!

Surprise! We thought it fitting that for their 25th anniversary they have a cake with 2500 calories. The thing was hugely ridiculous!

This is AFTER 10 people had eaten it!
Great night with a great family!

I am only posting this pic, because that chin and hopefully 50 pounds will be gone by their anniversary next year. There you have it...in writing. My New Years Resolution as cliche as it may sound. The.weight.will.come.off.

P.S. - Let me add that I DID NOT have ANY of the aforementioned chocolate cake. Mainly because I don't like chocolate, but also because that would definitely not be helping the cause. :)

First Family Game Night - 1/1/10

Our first Family Game Night of the year was a success! Even though the temps were below zero, we still had a few brave souls venture out and make it our house. Drew made it worth their time by having homemade chili, nachos and little smokies ready for everyone to enjoy!

What a fun night! Can't wait until next month - 2/3/10!!!

Connect Four seemed to be the game of choice that night!

Spoons! Is one of my new favorite games. Too fun!

The girls loved the new Curious George Zoo game (well I think Jules loved it and the older girls just went along with it. Still they are good sports for playing with a 3 year old!)

Post Christmas Week in Review

MONDAY

Caught the movie "The Princess and the Frog" with a friend from school/work and her daughter. The girls were too cute. The movie could have been better, but we got free tickets from my mom, so I am not complaining!

TUESDAY

Jules spent the night with Uncle Morgan (and Amy and Grandma and Grandpa Bush) while Mary and I checked into our poolside suite and the Comfort Suites. It was a great time. She hit the pool and I hit the hot-tub. Relaxing and wonderful night for Mary and I!

WEDNESDAY

Mary and I hit the ground running. We had gift cards burning holes in our pockets and we weren't afraid to use them! We met up with Sarah (Mary's mom) at Jordan Creek and she treated us to a manicure (me) and a pedicure (Mary). Such a sweet and unexpected surprise! We finally made it home by 8:00 that night. I was exhausted but content - especially with the deals I found! Mary said it was one of the best days ever and the best Christmas present ever!!!

THURSDAY

Julianna had her first play date with her BFF Anna from school! It was such a great morning. The girls played and created while I had the chance to get to know Anna's mom. A wonderful lady who I think will become a great friend. We can't wait to get together again!

FRIDAY

1st Family Game Night!!! New post dedicated to this to follow!
