It's Birthday Week!!!

This week of the year is always crazy for us.

Wed. (Sept. 24th) was my little sister Courtney's 22nd birthday. Her friends are throwing her a big party tonight, so I am hoping Drew and I can sneak over there for a little bit once he gets off work.

Yesterday (Sept. 25th) was my wonderful Step-mom's birthday. She has chosen to spend her night tonight, not going out to dinner and celebrating, but by taking Julianna for the night and giving me time to work on a paper I have due next week. Jules was SO excited this morning to be spending the night with "Bamma Bush" and going to see Uncle Mo Mo play in the Marching Band at East's football game tonight.

And....tomorrow (Sept. 27th) is Mary's 11th birthday!! I get to pick her up after her soccer game tomorrow and bring her home where I will have a manicurist waiting for us (really it is my little sister Courtney, but she does an amazing job on toes and fingers!) and after some pampering we will load up the car, pick up Julianna, meet Drew at work and then head out as a family to Omaha where we will spend the weekend together. We plan to order pizza, swim and sing Karaoke (on Mary's new Karaoke machine) at the hotel tomorrow night and then go to the Omaha zoo all day Sunday. I am SO looking forward to it and can't wait for the little surprises we have for Mary!

I will post pics on Monday of our fabulous weekend!

Cute Weekend Pics....

...because the weather was so crummy this weekend, we had to find fun things to do with Jules inside. On Saturday we took her to Toy's R Us to get some ideas for Christmas. I think she found a few things she likes....and of course, they were all big ticket items.
She is more and more like me everyday. :o)

Attention Husbands Everywhere!!!!

SO... most of you know that I have one of the greatest husbands in the world. Not only is he a great husband and father, but he actually cleans the kitchen and does the laundry! Well, he topped himself this weekend. Last week he told me that he had a special surprise for me Friday night....he booked a hotel room for me and ONLY me at the new Holiday Inn & Suites, which happens to be the hotel that Johnny's is in.

Oh my goodness, a whole evening to myself with no kids or husband. An absolute dream come true for a working mother!!

So...Friday my boss let me off early (1:00) and I was able to go pick up a few new books and head to the hotel to check in for the night. It was heavenly! The suite was perfect. I had a living room, nice size bathroom, kitchenette and bedroom with a big comfy bed that would be mine all night. Drew surprised me with stocking the fridge with some pop, water and munchies for the night. I was all set. Then at 7:00, he personally delivered dinner to me. A nice steak with asparagus and sweet potato fries. It was perfect! Then he brought me back chocolate covered strawberries and left me to my own for the rest of the night. Which included getting through half of my new book and watching a couple of movies. I fell asleep and slept uninterrupted for 9 whole hours. It was pure heaven!

On Saturday, I took my time getting ready and checked out at noon. I headed home to see my babes, because I did miss them a little bit and had another surprise, as Drew had the whole weekend off! It was great to have some alone time to start off the weekend and then to have some much needed family time.

So...all of you husbands out there (as I am sure there are SO many that read my blog) ;o), if you want the perfect gift for your wife...a hotel room to herself may be it!

1st Baseball Game!

Last night we took Julianna to her first baseball game. She wanted to go so bad and we were excited all day about taking her. When I got home she said "Go to game and eat hotdog!!" My girl loves her some baseball.....on t.v. In real life not so much.

Once we got there and her hotdog was gone, she was good to go....home. We only made it to the 3rd inning and then left. It was still a fun night and it was something different. And I must say she is pretty cute in her little Cubs hat!

History in the Making!

After the parade on Saturday, Drew, Jules and I headed over to Williams Stadium for Grand Views first (ever!) football game!

It was so exciting and fun. There were over 4,000 fans there! It was a great time, even though the sun and heat were pretty brutal. We only lasted until half-time when Jules was so red (despite lathering her with sunscreen) and tired that had to leave. Grand View of course won and we are looking forward to a great season!!!

Andy Fales from Channel 13, dropped by with the game ball!

I stayed up late Friday night and made this shirt for Jules. I had requests from parents to make them for their kids!

Labor Day Parade

Last Saturday was the Annual Labor Day Parade in Pleasant Hill. We have taken Jules for the past 2 years, so we are going to make it a tradition. PLUS, my handsome and talented little brother Morgan marched for East High in the parade. He is a senior, so this will be his last parade. :o(

It was a fun morning. Jules had a good time and of course LOVED all of the candy that she got. She has been picking out a piece each night as a special treat.

Here are some pics from the parade. If you get a chance, look at the pics from last year. Jules has changed and grown so much. She was just walking last year and this year she was running into the street!
