Mary and Emilee

I had a great weekend with the girls. I am tired and ready for a few days of rest, but had a great time nonetheless. Why was this weekend different than the rest you ask? Well I had an extra child all weekend. Mary's best friend Emilee spent the weekend with us. On Saturday, Mary, Jules and I went to see Emilee perform in her dance recital. She did a great job. They did a cute version of Cinderella. The all-male Step-sisters were hilarious! Emilee was one of the beautiful grasshoppers. Her costume was great! After the recital and a celebratory stop at Dairy Queen we went home where the girls played and entertained us for the afternoon.

They played King Tut, Emilee was the mummy wrapped in t.p., they played water balloons and got each other and my carpet thoroughly soaked. :o) I wish I would have taken pictures, but I was too busy tying water balloons! Then we watched movies, had pizza, popped popcorn and made root-beer floats. It was a great time. Emilee went to church with us yesterday and had a nice time there. She is in love with Pastor Lori (but who isn't!) Mary was sad when we had to drop E off, but was fine when we told her she would see her in less than 24 hours! All in all - it was a great weekend and alot of fun!

11 Months Old!!!!

I know I am posting this a few days late, but Julianna was 11 months old last Wednesday!! I just can't believe that in a little over 3 weeks she will be one! This has been the fastest most amazing year of my life. I can't even imagine how life would be without her. To celebrate her 11 months of life, we decided to have Strawberry shortcake for dessert. Jules really seemed to enjoy it! (minus the strawberries).

Speaking of three weeks, my Mom and Tom will be here in 3 weeks to celebrate her brithday and spend the week with us! We CANNOT wait for them to come! I miss my mom so much! We have been blessed that this will be the third time that we will have seen them in the last year. I guess it just took having an adorable baby for us to make the time to get together! Here are some pics of when they came to visit last summer when Jules was only a few weeks old!

Mother's Day 2007

I had a wonderful first Mother's Day! Drew had to work - they had over 550 people for brunch at the Market on Sunday. He said it was crazy, but that everyone just loved the food. Of course they did!

When Jules woke up I went into her room and on her dresser was a card from Drew and a beautiful necklace and card from Jules! The necklace is a circle that says "mom" a few times and all of the "o's" in "mom" are crystals. Very nice and I love it!!! I have worn it proudly everyday. When I think back on the past year, I am still so amazed at my girl. She brings tears to my eyes daily and the amount of love I have for her, well I just can't describe it. Those of you who are mom's, know what I am talking about. Breathtaking love, wonder and amazement everyday!

We went to lunch at my grandparents house and it was wonderful. My grandma made her famous "mystery meatballs" and mac n cheese. It was delish!!! The "mystery" in the meatballs is cranberry sauce! Sounds weird, I know, but they are utterly amazing and delicious!

Courtney had a nice cake made for us moms and we just enjoyed a good time with family. Of course Jules was the life of the party. What we ever did before she was born, is beyond me!

Courtney came over and hung out for a bit after lunch. She moves back this weekend!!! We are so excited for her to be closer!! Jules loves all of the time and attention her aunt co (and aunt lo and uncle mo) gives her!!! She is truly blessed to have such great aunts and uncles!

Here she is chillin' out in aunt co's sunglasses and gettin' some lovin' from aunt co!

In the Garden.....

On Saturday Jules, Lauren, my dad, Sue and I loaded up the car and headed to Ames. We met my cousin Lea at the Reiman Gardens and couldn't have asked for a better day.
The Gardens were beautiful and the butterfly garden was pretty amazing! Somethine was wrong with the temp. control in the butterfly garden, so it was hotter than a sauna in there, but it was worth it. Julianna loved it and we got some great photos of her taking in everything! Then it was off to Hickory Park for some delicious BBQ and dessert! Delish!!! It was such a great day and fun to be able to spend time with my family. Jules really bonded with grandma and grandpa as you can see in the pictures below!

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace!

My best friend got married on May 5th. It was such a beautiful and amazing day!!! She looked GORGEOUS!!!! And the rest of us didn't look too bad either! :o) The vows were really sweet (and short - we were done in less than 15 minutes!) The reception was great and lots of fun! They looked so happy and in love all day - I wish them all the best!

International Saturday Night!

Saturday Night was Rochelle's Bachelorette party. Needless to say, it was a great time! We had so much fun. Dinner at Crave was amazing - we were in the upstairs loft away from the rest of the crowd (most of them were prom-goers). There were about 15 of us and we just laughed, shared stories and had lots of fun! From there we went to Tonic for a drink. Since Lauren and I were the designated drivers, we partook in some free Diet coke! They didn't seem to keen on us being there, so we decided to take our business elsewhere!

The plan after that was to head to the hotel for the rest of the night, but Ro decided she wanted to dance. So we headed to Aura - this swankified place is where Demi and Ashton visited a while ago. We were excited to get in there and dance for a bit. We could hear the music from outside, so we thought that it was bound to be a good time! The doorman had told one of our friends that got there before us, that if the bachelorette and her entire party got there in the next 10 minutes, we could all get in for free. Now you know me - I am on a budget and a tight-wad, so not paying a cover was right up my alley! So we go in and we are literally THE ONLY PEOPLE THERE!!! I thought there was a mistake. The bar is a nice size and very modern looking, but I thought that maybe this was just the lounge and the "dance floor" was through these steel doors at the back of the room. Um, no this was it. So we just figured, we would make the best of it and the 10 of us that were left in our party would dance and have a great time. Well we were there for about 45 minutes when people just started piling in. We looked around and realized that most of them were hispanic, so we were wondering what was going on. Next thing we know the screens flash to INTERNATIONAL SATURDAY NIGHT AT AURA!!! People start salsa dancing on the dance floor and showing us these moves that i have never seen before. It was so much fun. By the time we left - 2 hours later, the placed was packed. It was such a great time! From there we finally made it to the hotel, where we had a Cinco de Mayo theme throughout the room (since they are getting married May 5th) and we enjoyed Quesadilla's and lots of mexican goodies - so I guess International Dance Night fit right in with the theme of the night! We've even decided to show off some of the moves we learned at the reception Sat. night! :o)

Sunday morning the plan was to go to breakfast at the Machine Shed, but for some reason, Lauren and I were the only ones that felt well enough to go....... :o) Thankfully everyone was fine by Monday and Rochelle couldn't stop talking about what a great night she had - so mission accomplished! Now we are all getting ready for the wedding and getting excited about that!!! The weather looks like it will cooperate with us Saturday, so I am sure it will be another great night!
