Labor Day Weekend Fun

Last weekend we made great plans to get away as a family and head to St. Louis.  Well......the weather had other plans!  It rained all day on Saturday and some on Sunday.  So we decided to stay and play close to home.

On Saturday we went car shopping all.day.long.  It started out as fun, but when you have a husband who is 6ft. 7in and there are only so many cars that he can fit into, well it becomes an adventure trying to find something that will work for our family.  By the end of the day (in the rain), we were over it.  So over it.  Thankfully when I got back to work on Tuesday one of my co-workers told me about a great discount we get through the district at one of the dealerships here.  So I contacted them and they have done an amazing job of helping us with the process!  So hopefully we will have the right car picked out and in our hands by next week!

On Sunday we decided to let Jules make the plans for the day.........

She got all dolled up and told us where to start our day......

First stop - Chuck E. Cheese.  Let me tell you, Drew and I really detest that place.  All I see when I walk in there is germs, but for some reason Jules loves it.

Drew gave her $5.00 worth of tokens and away she went.  A half hour later, she was done and walking out with her prizes - a fake pink braid she can clip to her hair and a pink ring.  When I thought about it, $5.00 for a half hour of fun for Julianna, really isn't too bad of a deal.  May keep that in mind for the future!

After that we ran back home to throw some ribs in the smoker and headed to see "The Odd Life of Timothy Green."  It was a lovely and beautiful movie.  It is very sad in some parts, but overall, we loved it.  Jules especially.  She figured out what was going to happen at the end and loved the way it ended.  She is such a sweet and tender-hearted girl and seems to get things more than a typical 6-year old.  So I was glad that she understood the ending and appreciated it.

Once the movie was over, we ran a couple of errands and came home to our neighborhood smelling delicious!  Drew made some amazing ribs and we had a great dinner as a family.

Drew had to work for a little bit on Labor Day, but Jules and I enjoyed a movie and vegging out day.  It was a pretty perfect weekend.
