Date Night!

On Sunday Night, Drew and I went on a much needed date night. Jules spent the night with my grandparents and we hit the town. Actually we just went to dinner and a movie, but it was still nice to be with Drew - just the two of us for the whole night.

We went to dinner at Felix and Oscar's and then went to see the movie Dinner for Schmucks. Movie was o.k. - funny, but I thought it would be funnier.

The best part of the night was walking out of the movie into a torrential downpour and lightning storm. We were soaked by the time we got to the car and saw lightning hit many things on the way home. Scary stuff. The whole way home we were praying that our electricity was still on. Thankfully it was. But when we walked in we heard a trickling (sp?) sound and went down to check out Mary's room. Not good. Not good at all. Water was about 18 inches high in her egress window and pouring out the bottom. Her room was already soaked and the main living area was slowly getting wet as well. So at 1 in the morning Drew and I start hauling everything out of her room and wouldn't you know, the power goes out. Lovely. So we moved the rest by candlelight.

Good times I tell you. Still it was nice to spend the evening with Drew and as we have seen before in our marriage, we work fantastically together during a catastrophe.

I love that man. :)
