Quick Updates!

Whew! It has been a couple of crazy weeks! We are without internet at home right now, so I haven't been able to get on here as often as I would like.

Let's see......

Jules:

We enrolled her in Pre-School last week! She starts school on the 27th and it SO excited about it. She will be going to Cowles Montessori. It is a great school and great program. I just know that she will excel in school and will hopefully be reading by next year! They are excited about her intelligence and her advancement compared to other 3 year olds! Drew and I are excited that she got into the school. Usually they have a long waiting list, but they were able to get Jules in this year, so she will have a good foundation to build on for her education!

She is also loving swimming right now. She is becoming quite the little swimmer and has overcome her small fears of the water. Sunday she was floating and jumping in pretty much on her own. It was so cool!

We have been working with her on reading and she is really trying. Her principal told me that it wouldn't be crazy for her to be reading by next year! So of course to help that along, Grandma Lili bought Jules her own laptop. That's right a laptop for a 3 year old! I guess having one is common now and she will be using it while she is in school. That sounds crazy to me, but if it helps with her development, then I am all for it.

Mary:

She is a typical pre-teen. Beautiful, smart, independent, sassy and developing quite the mood swings. But, we are all handling it fairly well and turning everything into a learning lesson. We have had her quite a bit this summer, so that has been really nice. We live just a couple of miles from her mom's house now, so it has been so easier to pick her up after work, or swing by and take her out for ice cream.

She is starting 6th grade (I can't believe it - she was 5 when I met her!) and is excited as this will be her last year of elementary school. Her cousins from Texas are moving up here this fall and will be going to the same school, so she is excited about that as well!

Since Mary has the entire upper level of our house to herself we are going to create an "office" space just for her. We got her a new desk, chair, accessories and of course her own laptop (also courtesy of Grandma Lili). Everything came in last week, so I am excited to get it all put together tonight, so when she comes this weekend it will all be set up for her. She will be so surprised! It will just be a good spot for her to study and be alone. I could only dream of having a space like this when I was a kid!

Drew and I:

Things are good. Not much new to report. We are still trying for baby # 2. Another month of being disappointed. We are going to continue to try through the winter and if nothing happens then we will explore our options from there. Two of my best friends are pregnant and I couldn't be more thrilled for them, but I would love to have our own little one to add to the mix. I know it will happen and we are trusting God for patience and we know it will happen in His time. The waiting just gets hard sometimes. :o)

Our bedroom is being re-done this week (new walls and paint) so I am excited to get all of that done and everything put back in there. Once that is done the house will be finished and we will be finally settled! We are really loving our new place. I can't wait to post pictures and show everyone our little abode!

So there is a little update on all of us. Sorry it has been so long since I posted. Things have just crazy at work and home lately!

Funny. We started Grandview in 6th grade. I remember the 1st day of school like it was yesterday. August 26th (I think...not positive) 1989.
Now Mary is that age. Life sure flies by
That is crazy! And she starts Aug. 26th, 2009! 20 years later. Too think I thought I knew it all then, and now I look at Mary and know that she for sure doesn't have everything figured out yet. I dont' know how my parents were even able to deal with me back then! :o)

Girl...our parents don't even know how they dealt with us.
Can't believe it's been 20 years. Just can't believe it.
